How to Take a Screenshot

There are plenty of instances where you’d want to share what’s on your screen with others, whether it’s for tech support or to show something to a friend. Here is how to take a screenshot on your computer or device.

Windows

Windows Key + PrtScr button (usually located next to the F12 key). This saves a fullscreen image to your Pictures folder, in a sub-folder named Screenshots.

Mac

Shift + Command (⌘) + 3. This will take a screenshot of your entire screen and save the image to your desktop. Pressing Shift + Command + 4 allows you to select a region for your screenshot with crosshairs.

iPhone

Press the lock button (side top) and home button (big circle) at the same time. The image is saved in your camera roll.

Android

Press the volume-down button and power button at the same time. Use your gallery app to see the screenshot.
