It’s Time to Change Your Wallpaper

How long have you been staring at that same picture of your family or vacation photo? Spring is the perfect time to freshen up your computer or device by switching up your computer or device background wallpaper.

Create a ‘Wallpapers’ Folder

First, find a few great images for your background and create a sub-folder labeled ‘Wallpapers’ in your Pictures folder. This keeps everything organized, and allows you to easily set up a slideshow of curated images should you wish. Check out this quick tip for help making new folders.

Find Great Images

A good rule of thumb for backgrounds is that they aren’t too busy you lose your files and icons in them. A background shouldn’t compete with your desktop files and apps.In selecting a background, file size matters. Use only high-res images for your backgrounds so that they don’t appear pixelated.Do you need some background wallpaper inspiration? The Reddit Wallpaper community has all kinds to choose from. Another great source is to do a Google Image search, for instance ‘Iceland Wallpaper’, click tools > size > larger than 1024x768.Once you find a great wallpaper, right-click on the image, or drag it, to save it to your Wallpapers folder.
